Nintendo Announces New "Glitch"
In an exclusive press release earlier this morning (April 1, 2009), Nintendo announced that while testing Pokemon Platinum they had, in fact, discovered a glitch in which one could obtain a level 100 Shaymin through a few simple tests. Instead of getting rid of it, NoA decided to keep it as an Easter Egg.
The steps, they say, are simple:
1. Pick Chimchar as your starter
2. Give your Chimchar ro its evolutions a potion to hold
3. Follow the same process to get Spiritomb, except meet 50 people Underground
4. A level 100 Shaymin will appear instead of a Spiritomb
Safari Johto Pokemon--Emerald Version
If you go to the safari zone before you beat the elite 4 there will be two people in one spot saying that "this part of the safari zone is under construction" but after you beat the elite four go back it will be open and there you can catch Pokemon from johto. You can't catch these Pokemon anywhere else in the game.
In generation 1, there were only 3 dragon types all in the same family and the same went for ghost-types. Coincidentally, they are the only 2 types that are super effective against themselves.
Generation 3 is the only generation so far with pure steel-types
Even though dragons breathe fire, there is yet to be a combination of fire and dragon Pokemon.
There is yet to be a pure Flying-type
Flying types have been a combination with every other type except for fighting.
There are more water-types than any other Pokemon.
If a Ditto was fighting another Ditto and they couldn't switch out and are still in Ditto form, the battle would never end because they'd keep transforming into each other.
In one of the Pokemon Episodes (Specifically Haunter vs. Kadabra),
Ash said ghost-types are strong against Psychic Pokemon, however, this wasn't true until generation 2 and at the time Ash said that ghost-types are strong against Psychic types, they had no effect on psychic-types.
In the anime, Snubbull, Marril, Ho-Oh, Togepi, Donphan, Ledyba, Bellossom, Elekid, Hoothoot, Slowking and Lugia are all Johto Pokemon that appeared before the Johto season
There is yet to be a dark-type Pokemon gym.
